Our private patient service, previously known as Shalbourne Private Health Care, has been renamed Great Western Hospitals Private Healthcare. This new name better reflects the integrated service provided across the hospital, with private patients seen alongside NHS patients using capacity that wouldn’t otherwise have been used for NHS services.
Great Western Hospitals Private Healthcare is a critical contributor to the Trust’s finances. In 2024/25 contributions exceeding £1 million flowed back into NHS care.
